Google Chrome - See the true colors of Enterprise Apps

All those Google enthusiasts working in Siebel will have a bad felling... But its not the mistake of the browser...Maybe its my mistake...anyways when you wanna test an application which works on ActiveX plug-in over a Browser which moves away from ActiveX and moves towards the AJAX Age...It will be real hard...For now you can be content with working with the IE. Only hope for the Siebel Client environment...I am not against the Microsoft or Google... Its just the need of the day to move away from Activex which is platform dependent...Enterprise application should start totally embracing AJAX or the Web 2.0 technologies and find ways to live without dependencies like ActiveX. If you had seen the way Google has developed its browser..it had applied a lot of thought similar to that of an Operating system.

In this enterprise world one should not restrict users to be browser dependent. I guess its time for Oracle to bring its Plug-ins something like Adobe has done for its Flash 10 player one set of plug-ins for the IE users and the other for the rest of the world. As of now Siebel shows it true colours with lots of junk code in Google Chrome...Hope to see future versions of Siebel with real Chrome(colors)...
[Note : The above was a test using Siebel 7.8. I assume the same results for older and new webclients due to their dependency on ActiveX.. In case if you feel I am Wrong .. Do leave your Comments with more info]

SaaS –for tiny understanding

SaaS: Do you know what it is; service provider hosts the applications and makes them available to customers as a service, rather than as a product. To be simpler, it is rending of software application as like renting of flats, cars and DVD’s

Why SaaS is sizzling in all IT forums – rather than investing huge in expensive software packages (enterprise applications) in terms of license, server and other maintenance, users can now access them over an internet and browsers are only absolute need.

Growth – I am not much familiar with how to calculate growth of particular technology or company. Of course I don’t have deep understanding stocks and growths of companies. Still I would say SaaS will open up very big space in IT development industry. The only reason to me is “All Indian offshore biggies (of course not only) are discussing about SaaS as top priority”. As of today, SaaS is gaining more traction in CRM industry and in near feature I would expect in other areas as well like ERP, SCM and HR Applications.

Feature of SaaS:

  • SaaS model application tremendously reduce capital investment (buy, build, support / maintenance costs) for (as of now) certain business process in SME sector.
  • Easy configuration, faster implementation and no infrastructure cost
  • Secure and Simplified integration with help of partners

Other talks about SaaS,

IT word - Software shops get SaaS-y

Of course other thoughts about SaaS, Anshublog - End of SaaS

What do you think my dear friendz!!!
